Environmental Legislation and Regulation
Unknowns in our environmental future loom in front of all types of international businesses. BKSH’s experience with multinational campaigns and energy and environment legislative issues provides a strong knowledge base in representing our clients. We currently advise a variety of clients on environmental legislation and regulation with a focus on federal climate change and energy policy and its impact on a variety of industrial sectors. Some examples of our work include:
- Working with major automotive and engine manufacturers on a variety of clean energy initiatives that promote clean engine and alternative fuel vehicle solutions to climate change and energy security issues
- Helping cutting edge clean energy manufacturers with clean power generation and emission-reducing fuel additive solutions
- Assisting major trade associations by representing vehicle consumer-related organizations to monitor and influence the legislative and administrative process as it affects their members on environmental and energy concerns
- Advising and partnering with major natural resource development and oil industry stakeholders to address energy supply problems or promote clean energy options that help reduce emissions
- Completing research for a European client on the state of play in domestic climate change policy and the likely outcome of Congressional deliberations
Climate Change Working Group
BKSH & Associates Worldwide has partnered with the public relations firm Burson-Marsteller to form a Climate Change Working Group, thus becoming a leader in climate change policy. The B-M/BKSH Climate Change Working Group holds periodic events featuring outside speakers on climate change and global warming issues. The group tracks and informs clients on upcoming legislation, public opinion research and other inside knowledge regarding climate change that will impact their business. The B-M/BKSH Climate Change Working Group counsels clients on communications and policy changes that may affect them and ensures that their interests are represented in the climate change arena.
In undertaking this working group and efforts for our clients in Climate Change, BKSH brings together senior public affairs staff with direct energy and environmental policy experience on Capitol Hill and seasoned Washington professionals in both political parties familiar with the shaping of domestic policy at the highest levels of government.
