With roots in political campaigns, BKSH specializes in providing strategic communications for our clients as well as building and leading coalitions. Legislative challenges can be similar to those of elections: one must make a case to a set of decision makers. BKSH transfers our experience coordinating communications, events and legislative activity in a candidate’s political campaign into a client’s legislative campaign. We work with all levels of government: local, state, federal and foreign. BKSH has specific experience with coalitions in travel and tourism, telecommunications and trade. We have worked with consumer groups, trade associations and businesses of all sizes.

One company’s challenge is often shared by a variety of interests. Strategic coalitions link together diverse organizations to benefit all the participants in the coalition. Our experience guiding the formation of these coalitions gives us insight into organizing, negotiating with and mobilizing various types of groups. With effective leadership, a coalition has the ability to attract greater attention on a national level and on Capitol Hill and therefore accomplish large-scale feats.

For various campaigns, BKSH has served more visibly in assisting the executive director or lead spokesperson in the campaign by organizing the nuts and bolts of daily activities. Our varied experience allows us to serve as an advisor or executor. We have helped clients in friendly and disputed circumstances and in high-publicity or sensitive tactical situations. BKSH works independently or in partnership with Burson-Marsteller or other outside firms. Through these efforts, we have launched major, coordinated events via targeted advertising, national grassroots support and government relations activities.
