J. Turner
Ms. Turner joins Prime Policy Group from its predecessor firm BKSH & Associates Worldwide. Ms. Turner has more than thirty years of experience in corporate government relations, political and legislative arenas. She is recognized as a leading public affairs and political strategist, and has held senior positions in the Reagan Administration and the U.S. Congress. Most recently, she assisted in developing domestic policy options for the McCain for President Campaign.
Prior to joining BKSH & Associates as a Managing Director, Ms. Turner worked in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. In her role as Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs, Ms. Turner was the primary liaison with Capitol Hill and managed the Office of Legislative Affairs and component legislative offices.
In the years before joining the U.S. Department of
Homeland Security, Ms. Turner was Senior Vice President for Government
Relations at the National Cable & Telecommunications Association where she formulated and managed the implementation of legislative strategy for the industry.
Ms. Turner has held several other key positions in
the White House and Senate, including: Deputy Assistant to the
President for Legislative Affairs; Special Assistant to the President
for Legislative Affairs (Senate); and Legislative Director to U.S.
Senator John Tower (R-TX).
In addition to her work on Capitol Hill and in the
White House, Ms. Turner was nominated by President George H.W.
Bush and confirmed by the Senate to serve as a commissioner on
the President’s Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy.
Ms. Turner graduated from Indiana University with
a B.A. in Political Science and French. |
