Bentson Weber
Ms. Weber joins Prime Policy Group from its predecessor, BKSH & Associates Worldwide. Ms. Weber is a Managing Director at Prime Policy Group who specializes in transportation and local government issues. She has held senior positions on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and at the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Ms. Weber previously served as counsel to Republican
members of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee
on all matters under the jurisdiction of the Surface Transportation
Subcommittee. In that capacity, she advised members on a variety
of surface transportation issues, including the federal-aid highway
and transit programs, highway safety, motor carrier safety, motor
carrier regulation, hazardous materials and pipeline safety.
During her eight year tenure on the Committee, she
also participated in the annual appropriations and budget processes
and collaborated in the drafting, negotiation and enactment of
more than 40 laws. She was a frequent speaker on legislative issues
before various industry and governmental groups.
Ms. Weber served in several capacities at the Department
of Transportation. During her tenure in the Office of the General
Counsel’s Legislative Division, she managed all legislative proposals
of the Maritime Administration and the Research and Special Programs
Administration and monitored legislation affecting those agencies.
Previously, she served in the Office of the Chief of Counsel at
the Research and Special Programs Administration, where she was
responsible for drafting legislation and assisting with enforcement
of hazardous materials and pipeline safety issues. She began her
legal career in the Department’s Honors Attorney Program.
Prior to joining BKSH & Associates, Ms. Weber served as a consultant for a prominent bipartisan government relations firm specializing in transportation issues. There, she provided a full spectrum of government relations services, from providing comprehensive Washington representation on all legislative and regulatory issues of importance to a client, to lending targeted assistance to achieve a specific goal.
Ms. Weber served on the Bush/Cheney transition advisory
team for the Department of Transportation in 2001 and was a National
Campaign Founding Member for the Elizabeth Dole for President Exploratory
Committee in 1999.
She holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of
Kansas and a B.A. from Baylor University. |
